The Anglican Central Education Authority (ACEA) continues to monitor Tropical Storm Imelda, which is currently affecting portions of The Bahamas. Guided by advisories issued by the Department of Meteorology and the Disaster Risk Management Authority (DRA), our foremost priority remains the safety and preparedness of our school communities.
Following a thorough review of forecast data and on-site evaluations at each school, and acting on the guidance of the Ministry of Education, we advise the following regarding operations for Monday, September 29, 2025:
- Out of an abundance of caution, all ACEA schools will be closed on tomorrow, in New Providence, Grand Bahama and Exuma.
- Classes are expected to resume on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, pending any further advisories.
We wish to assure all members of our school communities that precautionary measures have been taken across our four (4) schools to safeguard our campuses.
We extend sincere thanks to our School Administrators and School Boards for their diligence, timely assessments, and swift action in response to this developing situation.
All members of our school communities are encouraged to continue monitoring official advisories and to take every precaution to ensure the safety of their households during this period.
