Nursing cadets from St. Anne’s School visited the Geriatric Hospital and Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre this week, bringing compassion and professionalism to one of the nation’s most vital healthcare facilities. During their time at the facility, the cadets observed patients and rehabilitation practices at the Geriatric Hospital, which has served Bahamians with medical, social, and psychiatric needs since 1965. The center operates 24-hour medical care across five wards and provides rehabilitative, social, and psychological treatment to its patient population.
The nursing cadet program at St. Anne’s emphasizes hands-on learning experiences that expose students to real-world healthcare environments before they enter formal professional training.
