The ACEA requires all of our students to perform community service hours as part of their learning experience and graduation requirements. We find that one of the major benefits of volunteering is allowing them to experience the satisfaction of incorporating service into their lives and making a difference in their community and country.
The intangible benefits alone—such as pride, satisfaction, and accomplishment—are worthwhile reasons to serve. When students are able to share their time and talents through community service, they gain experience in solving problems, strengthening communities, improving lives, connecting with others and also transform their own lives.
